At the Damerower Werder wisent reserve there are currently three herds. There are two viewing enclosures and a red deer enclosure with the stag "Heinrich".

At the end of an unprecedented odyssey, at the end of World War II, 73 families from the Polish-Ukrainian border region of Volhynia had ended up in Mecklenburg.
After a path full of uncertainty and suffering, the Volhynian Germans settled the former Linstow domain in 1945 and to this day shape the face of the village.
