Extension to 18 holes

"Tee off in the middle of paradise" is the credo of the golf course in Serrahn near Krakow am See, because the poet Fritz Reuter has already assumed this to be paradise in his "Urgeschicht von Mecklenbörg" because of the breathtaking natural landscape.

Due to increasing demand the Van der Valk golf hotel "Landhaus Serrahn" is now extending its golf course on the bank of the Krakower See lake to 18 holes (72 hole championship course). To date golfers in Serrahn still play over 9 holes. "We are investing more than 200,000 Euro in the extension, because this course has a great future" states Hotel Manager and Club President Ingo Kalms.

6 additional holes will be created directly behind the hotel course of the Country House Serrahn. Here rows of trees have already been planted completely new. The island greens are visible directly from the terrace of the clubhouse. 3 new holes on the already existing 9-hole golf course could also become a further attraction. For example, the new fifth fairway on a peninsula will run directly along the idyllic bank of the Krakow See lake. "This will be an absolute attraction" according to head greenkeeper Ulrich Schmidt. "Our golf course is already really a part of nature anyhow. A place with a lot of movement, demanding greens and unique fairway layouts" states Schmidt. "And our driving range with the 10 meter raised tee-off area directly on the Krakower See lake might be almost a one-off in Germany".

Furthermore, the new course will also be provided with a modern fairway-watering system. The project should be concluded by the end of 2011. In this case the company Van der Valk, under overall management of its General Manager Vincent van der Valk, is itself taking over the conception of the project itself.

Serrahn golf club is growing

Ever more golfers of all handicap classes, however, also beginners or interested starter golfers experience with increasing interest the unique combination of sport and nature in Serrahn. The Serrahn golf club could more than double its membership in the past year with currently more than 120 members. 200 memberships are targeted for the coming year. With experienced golf pros, beginners can achieve enough ability to play the course as early as in three days, and in their own children's golf academy the smallest are introduced to the sport at an early stage. Furthermore the Serrahn golf hotel, together with the associated golf club, offers diverse events. From regular golf tournaments to the After-Work Cup.

Increasing capacity utilization in the golf hotel

The capacity utilization in the golf hotel is also constantly increasing. Thus the average allocation in the year 2010 could be increased more than 60%.

The picturesquely sited hotel complex is provided with 34 rooms, structured in the Landhaus style, and suites of different categories, an á la carte restaurant with conservatory, beer garden, sun terraces, piano bar, bike rental, fire and grill place, as well as convention rooms for up to 100 persons.
